Locality: United States, Texas, Presidio, Chinati Mtns. State Natural Area. Boulder Canyon, NW-facing bouldery slopes draining N slope of Chinati Peak. Small arroyo in sight of lowest windmill. Elev. 5449 ft.

Habitat: On steep grassy slope. Gray Oak Woodland with Quercus grisea, Juniperus, Agave havardiana, Dasylirion, Nolina, Opuntia engelmannii, O. imbricata, Adolphia infesta, Tecoma stans, Rhus, Morus microphylla, Bouvardia, and abundant grasses including Bouteloua curtipendula. Subshrub 75 cm tall. Barely woody at base. Fls whitish-green.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
