Habitat: Erect herb, top leaves lobed. Rich soils, open thickets. Annual, perennial roots. Among Sabal texana. Soil: alluvial. Flowers: terminal clusters, greenish, no odor. Leaves: alternate, petiolate, oblong - obovate. Fruit: a three lobed capsule. Bark: green. Roots: fibrous. Frequent in dry alluvial soils. Along the old Resacas.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
