Habitat: Sonoran Desert. Lower Colorado River Valley Subdivision.
Substrate: At base of mountains in silty soil.
Associated Species: Parkinsonia florida, Prosopis velutina, Suaeda sp., Atriplex canescens, Lycium fremontii, Cynodon dactylon, Brassica tournefortii, Amsinckia sp., Muhlenbergia microsperma.
Description: Ray flowers yellow, disk florets maroon-brown. Growing with Encelia farinosa var. farinosa which is more abundant.
Notes: Brittlebush.
