Habitat: Sonoran Desert. Lower Colorado River Valley Subdivision. Creosote-Bursage association.
Substrate: Gently-sloped northwest-facing sandy ridge with light gravel mantle, in a swale below the dirt track.
Associated Species: Ambrosia dumosa, Larrea tridentata, Psorothamnus emoryi, Hilaria rigida, Atriplex polycarpa, Geraea canescens.
Description: Parasitic shrub 70 cm high and 100 cm wide. 100% flowering and fruiting. Corolla rose-pink 2 cm in diameter with reflexed petals. Leaves = 5 mm,; stems ending in spines.
