Description: Common mounded perennial, generally on rocky slopes and rock outcroppings; stamens appearing stunted; early flower buds photographed 25 March 2010 from individual transplanted to outside garden, Chino Valley, Arizona; fruits photographed and collected (6) 17 June 2013; flower buds well-formed by 20 February 2014; flowers photographed and collected (2) 14 March 2014.
