Habitat: Ledges on NW-facing volcanic rock outcrop.
Associated Species: Picea, Jamesia, Juniperus
Description: Perennials from erect, scaly rhizomes; leaves often overwintering, neither aromatic nor glandular; blades sparsely scaly along rachises & costae, the scales mostly hair-like; ultimate segments with incurved (not spinulose) teeth; sori medial; indusia thick +/- flat, covering less than half the sorus at maturity; spores brown, coarsely rugose, averaging ca. 44 microns long.
